Our first stop in Portland was picturesque. The weather was actually cool, compared to the rest of the country. We walked through shops and dreamed about the Lobster we would eat on our next adventure.
We had already decided ahead of time that we wanted to go on a Ferry to Peaks Island. Totally stoked to ride on a ferry again.
After getting off the Ferry we found a wonderful lunch place with amazing views. It was there that we had our first lobster roll. A-mazing!! Best thing ever!
After our insanely wonderful meal we found a bike shop and rented bikes to tour the island. What a fabulous way to travel. It had been a long time since either of us had ridden a bike. We couldn't stop laughing at how fun it was. We stopped often to look at the views and take pictures.
We headed back to the mainland and drove to see the Portland Head Lighthouse. You gotta see a lighthouse in Maine.
Oh, we're not done yet! We then headed to Kennybunkport. No, we didn't get to see the Bush estate, but we had a fabulous time in this little sea town, even though it was raining. We had another lobster roll to compare with the first and later found out it was featured on Food Wars on The Food Network. We walked through the amazing architecture and enjoyed a romantic walk in the rain.
