We Do Exist

The idea to have blog is marvelous. Having the time to actually blog during a fantastic road trip is much much harder than expected. We are sorry in our delay of posts and will try to be better...

So far is has been fabulous. The drive went smoothly but was very long. We headed out on July 2nd Saturday morning. We were aiming for 6:30am so naturally we made it on the road around 7:30 with only one trip back to the house for a forgotten camera cord. Eddie and I really are amazing travel partners. We took turns driving although Eddie really did the majority of driving. We made a bed in the back and oh, oh, oh was it heavenly when it was "your turn" to lay down with fluffy pillows. Lots of music, comedians, and talks helped us along the way. We always started out with prayer and through God's graces we had no major obstacles. We are keeping lists of crazy town names (favorites so far are PeeWee Valley and Bucksnort), along with names of places that already exist (such as Moscow, Lebanon, and England) plus we play the license plate game (Eddie thought it sounded dumb but he has come around and is looking with me, 26 states so far...).

After our first day of driving we stopped in Memphis TN for mass followed by amazing BBQ at a place called Rendevous. AMAZING!!! Adam from the Travel Channel ate there so we were super excited. Then we headed to Jackson TN so stay with a family friend. Next morning started more of the same...DRIVING. Here are a few photos of the drive. More to come...
